Aptiv PLC is seeking an EHS Coordinator in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, to lead the EHS department and oversee the planning, development, and implementation of our Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability strategy.

You will ensure compliance with Mexican and international regulations, coordinate audits, and drive continuous improvement across EHS management systems and supplier interfaces. Strong English skills and knowledge of ISO standards are required.

Formación

  • Advanced English required (written and spoken).
  • Experience leading EHS programs and teams.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Experience coordinating audits and regulatory inspections.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead the EHS department and drive the Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate audits and follow up on findings with management.
  • Advise management on EHS&S for existing activities and new projects.
  • Plan and supervise daily and future activities of EHS personnel.
  • Identify and monitor EHS&S training needs and implement preventive programs.
  • Develop and monitor EHS&S indicators and reports.
  • Coordinate meetings with internal departments to resolve EHS&S issues.

EHS Coordinator

Responsible for leading the EHS department, including the planning, development, and implementation of the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability strategy. Ensures compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements while fostering a proactive safety culture across the organization.

This role drives the continuous improvement of EHS management systems, including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and the corporate EOS system, while ensuring compliance with customer-specific EHS&S requirements. Additionally, it focuses on reducing operational risks and minimizing environmental impact, ensuring the organization maintains its certifications and complies with applicable national and international standards and regulations.

Your Role:

  • Coordinate the environmental, health and safety activities necessary to comply with the requirements of clean industry, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Ministry of Labor, SEMARNAT, State Authority, ETC.

  • Ensure compliance and monitor compliance with legal obligations in matters of health, safety and Environment and Energy.

  • Coordinate, attend and follow up on planned and unplanned safety and environmental audits of the company.

  • Advise management on EHS&S for the different activities developed in each area, or in new projects.

  • Planning and supervision of daily and future activities of the personnel under his/her charge.

  • Identification and monitoring of the implementation of training in EHS&S.

  • Implement and evaluate preventive programs for risk reduction, sustainability projects and applicable environmental aspects according to current regulations on the matter.

  • Generate and keep updated the EHS&S indicators that are determined in the company.

  • Coordination of meetings with different internal departments, for the detection and/or solution of EHS&S problems.

  • Setting priorities and making decisions in the prevention and solution of EHS&S problems.

  • Implementation of EHS&S documentation aligned with clean industry, ISO-14001, internal control, labor secretariat and (SEMARNAT, SPA, Fire Department, Civil Protection Department, ETC.), as well as management and processing of licenses and permits, in EHS&S material.

  • Coordination of meetings with external suppliers of materials, equipment or services for the solution of EHS&S problems.

  • Administration of the budget assigned to the EHS&S area, expense control and capital projects.

  • Has the authority to stop any action and/or condition that corresponds to a fault and puts the Safety and Health of employees at risk or a negative impact on the environment.

  • Has the authority to provide feedback to any employee on good behavior that contributes to well-being in matters of safety, health and the environment, and/or on those behaviors that put their health, safety at risk, and/or have a negative impact on the environment.

Your Background:

  • 5 years of experience in the area of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS)

  • Advanced English: written and spoken

  • Strong knowledge of applicable Mexican legislation and regulatory requirements related to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), including laws, regulations, standards, and industry requirements.

  • Proven experience in the implementation, monitoring, and enhancement of EHS&S programs (LOTO, PPE, MOC).

  • Knowledge in the identification, implementation, management and monitoring of EHS&S regulations.

  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 environmental management systems

  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 health and safety systems

  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety management systems

  • Knowledge of Mexican laws and regulations regarding EHS&S

  • Experience coordinating and responding to regulatory agency requirements and inspections, including PROFEPA, STPS, and Civil Protection authorities.
