Job summary

Mercedes-Benz is seeking a Documentation Specialist in our manufacturing footprint in Mexico to manage design change implementation for production parts, maintain BOM accuracy, and coordinate changes across disciplines to minimize cost impact.

The role requires a university degree, bilingual Spanish and English, knowledge of MS Office and Mercedes-Benz systems (DIALOG, START, NCM), and a collaborative, travel-ready mindset to meet tight schedules.

Qualifications

• University degree in business administration, industrial engineering or supply chain management.
• Bilingual Spanish + English; German as advantage.
• Logistics-related experience and knowledge of change control or production control preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of Mercedes-Benz systems: DIALOG, START, NCM.

Responsibilities

• Maintain BOM and coordinate the implementation of changes into the Mercedes-Benz passenger car line, minimizing cost impact.
• Verify and analyze all incoming changes (KEM) and BOM.
• Ensure engineering changes are introduced into production and archived.
• Coordinate PEM data and verify changes with RD, MB-AG, COMPAS.
• Liaise with internal/external departments to ensure accurate BOM.
• Set up milestones with cross-functional teams to meet tight schedules.
• Collaborate with IT, Material request for production and MP on WAVE Balance documentation.
• Support introduction of local and imported parts for current and future models.
• Analyze SW and parameter data with RD & COMPAS for proper testing.

Job Description - Documentation Specialist (MER00049D5)

Description

Main Objective:

Under general supervision, this position manages the implementation of design changes to production parts for series and new model vehicle applications.

Main Tasks:

• Provide and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) as well as coordinate the implementation of all changes into the Mercedes Benz passenger car line, so as minimize impact of cost to company.
• Maintain, verify and analyze all incoming changes (KEM) responsibly as well as the BOM in general.
• Ensure that all engineering changes are accurately introduced into the production line and certify that all breakpoints are accurately and timorously recorded for archiving.
• Maintain and verify all engineering changes in Dialog P (PEM) responsibly Ensure that all PEM related data is accurately captured and distributed to the relevant departments and that verification is done for all engineering changes by coordinating divisional activities.
• Take responsibility according to liaising, verifying and coordinating of all queries with various internal/external departments (including RD, MB-AG and COMPAS) to ensure an accurate BOM.
• Work together with cross-functional departments like product planning, quality and logistics set up project milestones as well as coordinate activities to pursue tight time schedules.
• Collaboration in a cross-functional team including IT, Material request for production and MP to set and define the correct documentation for WAVE Balance (multisoursing).
• Support of the on-time introduction of local and imported parts for our current compact cars and future Mercedes-Benz projects.
• Analysis and coordination of SW and parameters datas in collaboration with RD & COMPAS team to assure a proper test.

Qualifications

1. Education:

• University degree in:
• Business administration.
• Industrial engineering or supply chain management.

2. Language(s):

• Bilingual Spanish + English (Native or business fluent).
• German as advantage.

3. Technical Knowledge:

• Logistics; preferably with an automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or supplier or a minimum of 2 3 years’ experience in areas such as: Engineering Change Control, Inventory Control, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or Production Control.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook).
• Desired knowledge of Mercedes Benz systems like DIALOG, START, NCM (New Change Management).
