Dematic is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our Customer Service Technical Support team. This role provides technical support and troubleshooting for complex automated material handling systems that integrate controls hardware and software.

The ideal candidate has PLC experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell or Siemens, reads electrical schematics, and communicates effectively in English. Location is Mexico City or nearby; travel up to 20% may be required.

Formación

Dematic is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our Customer Service Technical Support team. This position is responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance for complex automated material handling systems that integrate controls hardware and software.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with PLC-based automation systems, troubleshooting electrical and controls issues, and supporting customers in industrial environments. This role requires regular interaction with customers, making strong communication skills and conversational English essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support for automated material handling and industrial control systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, electrical, and controls-related issues.
• Analyze PLC logic, HMI screens, alarms, and electrical schematics to identify root causes.
• Support customers through issue resolution and system recovery activities.
• Document technical findings and follow up on support cases.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, and customer support teams.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and customer satisfaction enhancements.
• Travel approximately 10-20% to customer sites as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical, Electronics, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, technical support, field service, or similar areas.
• Experience with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley/Rockwell or Siemens.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Experience troubleshooting automated systems and industrial equipment.
• Conversational English required.
• Must currently reside in Mexico City (CDMX) or Nuevo León.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting customers in manufacturing, automation, logistics, or material handling environments.
• Knowledge of HMI, SCADA, industrial networks, and communication protocols.
• Experience with commissioning, startups, or field service activities.
• Exposure to conveyors, sortation systems, warehouse automation, or material handling systems.
