Camaco in Columbus, Nebraska, is seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer for automotive manufacturing. You will troubleshoot, program, and optimize automated equipment, with strong emphasis on PLCs, robotics, and motion control across welding and production lines.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, and Siemens PLCs, along with FANUC and Yaskawa robotics, and a track record of boosting uptime and OEE in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of controls/automation experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
• Hands-on PLC troubleshooting and programming experience.
• Experience with industrial robots, servo systems, VFDs, sensors, machine vision, and safety systems.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilidades

• Program and troubleshoot PLC systems, including Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Mitsubishi, and Siemens.
• Troubleshoot and support FANUC and Yaskawa welding robots.
• Troubleshoot servo motors, servo drives, VFDs, and motor control systems.
• Support machine vision systems and PLC/vision communication.
• Troubleshoot sensors (photoeyes, inductive, proximity, encoders) and other industrial sensors.
• Read/modify electrical schematics, PLC programs, and control systems.
• Support automated welding, assembly, conveyors, and other equipment.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement controls improvements to increase uptime, quality, and OEE.
• Support equipment installations, commissioning, and production launches.

Controls Engineer – Automotive Manufacturing

Job Summary

Responsible for troubleshooting, programming, and improving automated manufacturing equipment in an automotive production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with PLCs, robotics, motion control, sensors, and industrial automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Program and troubleshoot PLC systems, including Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Mitsubishi, and Siemens.
• Troubleshoot and support FANUC and Yaskawa welding robots.
• Troubleshoot servo motors, servo drives, VFDs, and motor control systems.
• Support machine vision systems and PLC/vision communication.
• Troubleshoot photoeyes, inductive sensors, proximity sensors, encoders, and other industrial sensors.
• Troubleshoot and maintain machine safety systems, including safety PLCs, light curtains, interlocks, and E-stops.
• Read and modify electrical schematics, PLC programs, and control systems.
• Support automated welding, assembly, conveyors, and other automotive manufacturing equipment.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement controls improvements to increase equipment uptime, quality, and OEE.
• Support equipment installations, commissioning, and production launches.

Qualifications
