Formación

Team Lead at Global Connect Technologies

Job Description:

The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing and building automation and robotic equipment, owning projects from concept through installation. Candidates must have experience with Siemens TIA Portal or FANUC robotics (only one is required, not both). Some positions may convert from contract to hire after approximately six months.

Key Requirements:

• Must live in Reno
• Siemens PLC experience with TIA Portal required for PLC roles
• Step 7 (S7) is not applicable
• FANUC robotics experience for robotics roles (iRVision is a plus)
• Candidates are expected to present a recent project during interview
• Some candidates will take a live troubleshooting technical test via Teams

Responsibilities:

• Design and build automation and robotic equipment
• Own and implement solutions from project concept to installation
• Perform machine concepting and proof-of-principle
• Conduct electrical design/layout and software design/programming
• Debug hardware and software
• Perform acceptance testing and installation/integration at the factory
• Work with rapidly changing technology
• Proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal
• 1–2 years of experience with TIA Portal
• PLC programming, HMI/SCADA design, and drive configuration
• Knowledge of sensors, remote I/O, servos, VFDs, machine vision, and barcode readers
• Familiarity with Profinet, Ethernet/IP, and EtherCAT
• Experience with 6‑axis robots, primarily FANUC

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field or equivalent experience
