Ford Motor Company in Chihuahua, MX is seeking an automation engineer with a strong electrical background to support plant controls and automation projects.

You will troubleshoot PLCs and robots, reprogram for engineering changes, and ensure alignment with engineering specs. The role requires leadership, strong communication, and collaboration with ME Group staff to optimize production and energy use.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
• 2+ years of related experience.
• Strong problem solving using 8Ds, FMEAs, and DMAICs.
• Electrical background with PLC knowledge and AB hardware.

Responsabilidades

• Review cycle times using Vis Plant monitoring software and monitor automation projects.
• Troubleshoot PLC, robot, and other automation issues supporting production.
• Reprogram automation for engineering changes and improvements.
• Define and maintain the plant controls strategy aligned with ME Group staff.
• Review and load machine controls software to ensure latest version.
• Conduct machine acceptance for new or retooled equipment.
• Review and approve technical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Prepare projects to improve machine controls and issue PIRs and orders.
• Conduct technical reviews to meet Ford Engineering specs and local regulations.
• Evaluate new technologies, materials, and components including obsolescence.
• Provide support for energy efficiency in electrical circuits.
• Coordinate vendor installations in the plant.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering
• Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering
• Experience: 2+ years of related experience
• Fundamental working knowledge of PLC logic and controls (RSLogix)
• Electrical Background (electrician or technician)
• Related experience
• Allen Bradley Panel View use/programming AB Servo and AB VFD drives
• Familiarity with VFD's, Armor starts, encoders, network/Ethernet controls
• Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

Position Duties

• Use Vis Plant monitoring software to review cycle times of automation, review and follow up automation project's and installations
• Troubleshoot PLC, robot, and other automation problems supporting the day-to-day production issues when required.
• Reprogram automation for engineering changes and improvements
• Define, design and maintain the plant controls strategy, ensuring alignment with ME Group Staff.
• Review, approve and load all machine controls software to ensure availability of latest level.
• Conduct Machine Acceptance for all new and retool equipment coming from New Programs, CIB projects or maintenance actions
• Review and approve technical drawings
• Prepare projects to improve machine controls and issue PIR's and orders
• Conduct technical review of recaps ensuring accomplishment of Ford Engineering Spec and local regulations
• Review and approve new technologies, materials and components (including obsolescence)
• Provide technical support for energy efficency activities related to electrical circuits
• Coordinate and support of vendor installations in plant

Preferred Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• Experience: 2+ years of related experience
• Strong problem solving skills, including 8Ds, FMEAs, and DMAICs
• Ability to independently troubleshoot all body equipment and continuously evaluate equipment for improvement for quality and delivery
• Fanuc robot experience
• Kawasaki programming, RS Logics, Microsoft office
• PLC
• Ability to read prints, AutoCAD, interpret and modify electrical schematics
• Experienced in laser burning
• Strong understanding of conveyors system programming and body tooling techniques, in addition to networking understanding, DH+, Ethernet, remote IO
• Ability to read blueprints
• Simulation modeling exposure
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
• Lean Tools - 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping
• DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodology experience
• TQM and Kaizen Methods
• FMEA, PPAP, and DOEs experience
