CEVA Logistics is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to identify and implement optimization opportunities across Contract Logistics operations. You’ll apply Lean methodologies to improve productivity, quality, service, and cost efficiency at the floor and process levels.

Work with Operations, Engineering, Finance and IT to translate challenges into sustainable improvement initiatives; develop standards and monitor outcomes to sustain gains.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in Continuous Improvement or related functions.
  • Experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics environments.
  • Experience with productivity and performance indicators.
  • Experience with time studies, process mapping and root cause analysis.
  • Experience participating in improvement projects.

Responsabilidades

  • Identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities across Contract Logistics operations.
  • Lead or support Kaizen events and improvement workshops.
  • Analyze warehouse processes and optimize layouts, labor and space utilization.
  • Develop current/future state process maps and standard operating methods.
  • Collect and analyze data; create dashboards and reports for decision-making.
  • Ensure measured improvements are sustained and shared with teams.

The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for identifying, analyzing and implementing improvement opportunities across Contract Logistics operations to increase productivity, operational efficiency, quality, capacity utilization and cost effectiveness.

The role applies Lean methodologies, engineering tools, data analysis and structured problem-solving techniques to optimize warehouse processes, eliminate waste, standardize operations and support the achievement of operational and financial targets.

This position works closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, IT and other stakeholders to translate operational challenges into sustainable improvement initiatives.

The Continuous Improvement Engineer is expected to have a strong presence on the operational floor, using data and direct process observation to identify root causes, develop solutions and ensure that improvements are successfully implemented, measured and sustained.

Key Accountabilities
  • Identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities across Contract Logistics operations.
  • Develop and implement improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, service, cost and operational efficiency.
  • Apply Lean principles and structured continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate waste and non-value-added activities.
  • Conduct process observations, Gemba walks and operational assessments to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead or support Kaizen events and continuous improvement workshops.
  • Develop action plans and ensure timely implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor results after implementation to ensure improvements are sustainable.
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture within operational teams.
Process Engineering & Optimization
  • Analyze warehouse and logistics processes including receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, value-added services, inventory and shipping.
  • Develop current-state and future-state process maps.
  • Perform time and motion studies to identify productivity opportunities.
  • Analyze process flows, bottlenecks, constraints and operational inefficiencies.
  • Define and improve standard operating methods and processes.
  • Support optimization of warehouse layouts, workstations, material flows and operational resources.
  • Evaluate capacity requirements based on volume, productivity and operational assumptions.
  • Support development and validation of engineered productivity standards.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize labor, equipment and space utilization.
Data Analysis & Performance Management
  • Collect, validate and analyze operational data to identify trends, deviations and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop analyses related to productivity, utilization, capacity, quality and operational performance.
  • Monitor key operational KPIs and identify gaps against established targets.
  • Create dashboards, reports and analyses to support operational decision-making.
  • Translate operational data into actionable improvement plans.
  • Measure baseline performance prior to implementation and quantify results after completion.
  • Support Operations in understanding performance drivers and root causes of deviations.
  • Ensure improvement projects have clearly defined and measurable results.
Productivity & Labor Optimization
  • Analyze labor productivity by process, activity, shift and operation.
  • Conduct time studies and workload analyses.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize staffing and resource allocation.
  • Support development and implementation of productivity standards.
  • Compare actual productivity against expected or engineered standards.
  • Identify causes of productivity gaps and develop corrective actions with Operations.
  • Support workforce planning and capacity analyses according to expected volumes.
  • Evaluate the impact of operational changes on labor requirements and productivity.
Education, Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in: Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering. Supply Chain Engineering, Operations Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Industrial Engineering, Operational Excellence, Process Engineering or related functions.
  • Experience working in warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing or logistics environments.
  • Experience analyzing and improving operational processes.
  • Experience with productivity and performance indicators.
  • Experience conducting time studies, process mapping and root cause analysis.
  • Experience participating in or leading improvement projects.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation capabilities.
  • Experience within Contract Logistics / 3PL operations.
  • Experience in high-volume distribution centers or e-commerce operations.
  • Experience with WMS environments.
  • Experience supporting new operation implementations or ramp-ups.
  • Experience with automation or warehouse technology projects.
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt.
  • Lean Manufacturing / Lean Logistics.
  • Project Management.
  • Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence certifications.
