A leading energy technology company seeks a Commissioning Engineer for High Voltage Direct Current Transmission in Querétaro, Mexico. The role involves executing performance tests, troubleshooting, and commissioning systems while contributing to sustainable energy projects. Candidates should hold a degree in Electrical Engineering with 2-5 years of experience in relevant areas and must be fluent in English. The position offers hybrid work and requires 100% travel availability.

Formación

  • 2-5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering and Commissioning of Electrical Power Stations or HVDC Systems.
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
  • Full availability for travel (100%).
  • Flexibility for national/international assignments.

Responsabilidades

  • Contribute to HVDC projects' successful completion.
  • Carry out Functional Tests in the test center.
  • Trace bugs and support Software Engineering.
  • Execute and document Functional and Dynamic Performance Tests.
  • Commission Measuring System and DC Protection System.
  • Support Quality, Risk, and Claim Management.

A Snapshot of Your Day

In our HVDC Protection Team, we are testing and verifying the hardware and software for our innovative HVDC Projects in our Test Center and ensure proper functionality and good quality of our HVDC Plants worldwide during commissioning. Our diverse and multinational teams are working closely together with project management, engineering as well as with end customers to provide customized solutions based on the latest innovations in HVDC technology.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Actively contribute to the Energy Transition by bringing our HVDC projects to successful completion together with our customers.
  • You are part of a project team in Integration Testing, and you carry out Functional Tests of the Control & Protection hardware and software in one of our test centers
  • You independently trace bugs and support our Software Engineering in debugging
  • You are responsible for the execution and documentation of the Functional Performance Tests (FPT) and Dynamic Performance Tests (DPT) of the HVDC System, including Customer Acceptance Tests in one of our test centers
  • Take responsibility for commissioning the Measuring System, DC Protection System, and Transient Fault Recorder for our HVDC projects as part of a highly motivated international team, at customer sites worldwide.
  • You will support our Commissioning Management in Quality, Risk and Claim Management and you actively participate in our improvement programs
What You Bring
  • A completed degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Good knowledge in one or more of the following areas: project planning and testing via MATLAB/SIMULINK, Siemens SIMATIC TDC/S7, CFC, grid protection systems
  • Knowledge or ideally 2-5 years working experience in the field of Electrical Engineering and Commissioning of Electrical Power Stations or HVDC Systems
  • Knowledge in Current- and Voltage Measuring devices and other primary equipment
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
  • Full availability for travel (100%).
  • Flexibility and willingness to participate in national/international assignments
  • A collaborative and proactive mindset, strong communication skills, a positive approach to conflict resolution, and sound decision-making ability .
