Job summary

Google LLC’s Compute Engine team is seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer to support customers on Google Cloud Platform. The role involves troubleshooting, scripting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.

The candidate should have strong Linux/Unix or Windows system administration, networking expertise, and English fluency to interact with regional customers. Weekend and shift work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years troubleshooting and triaging technical issues for customer needs.
• 5 years experience with computer networking and web technologies (HTTP, HTML, DNS, etc.).
• System administrator level experience with Linux/Unix or Windows.
• Ability to communicate in English fluently with regional customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7 support within a global team, sometimes requiring non-standard hours and weekends.
• Diagnose and resolve customer issues, improving productivity on Google Cloud Platform.
• Act as consultant and SME for Engineering, Sales, and customer organizations to remove deployment obstacles.
• Understand product tech and architectures; reproduce, diagnose root causes, and build faster diagnosis tools.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to improve product; work with Site Reliability Engineers to ensure high-quality production.
