Job summary

Halliburton in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, Mexico, seeks an experienced Well Engineer to lead well proposals and Basis of Design, while ensuring technical integrity of operations planning and execution.

The role requires 6+ years in drilling/completion, English proficiency, and hands-on experience with HP/HT wells and related software tools. You will prepare AFEs, conduct risk assessments, and contribute to knowledge management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in drilling and completion operations for wells.
• Knowledge of HP/HT wells, casing integrity testing, and torque/drag analysis.
• Experience supervising critical operations on-site, including casing and liner cementing, TCP/WCP, DST testing, and well completion operations.
• Experience in preparing technical proposals and AFE (Authorization for Expenditure).
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Proficiency with Compass, StressCheck, CasingSeat, and WellPlan.

Responsibilities

• Develop well proposals and Basis of Design.
• Provide operation plans and programs; assure technical integrity of planning and execution.
• Oversee day-to-day surveillance of operations.
• Create AFEs and perform cost control of operations.
• Participate in risk assessments, forecasts and medium/long-term planning.

Job Duties

Under direct supervision, the Well Engineer is responsible for well proposals and the Basis of Design. Provides Operation Plans and prepares Programs as well as assures technical integrity of Operations planning and execution. Responsible for the day-to-day surveillance of operations. Responsible for the creation of Approval for Expenditure (AFE) and performs cost control of operations. Participates in risk assessment, forecasts and plans medium and long term needs to meet program requirements, and anticipates operational changes and needs. Prepares equipment lists and identifies long lead items. Ensures proper communication within the project. Performs engineering studies to solve recurring problems. Prepares End-of-Well reports and contributes to knowledge management.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• 6+ years of experience in the operation and design of drilling and completion activities for exploratory and development wells.
• Knowledge ofHP/HT wells, casing integrity testing, and torque and drag analysis.
• Experience indirect on-site supervision of critical operations, including casing and liner cementing, TCP/WCP perforating runs, DST testing, and well completion operations.
• Experience in theintegrated preparation of technical proposals and AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) generation.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Proficiency in specialized software:Compass, StressCheck, CasingSeat, and WellPlan.
