Job summary

Halliburton seeks a seasoned Well Engineer to lead drilling design and operation planning. You will prepare AFEs, perform cost control, and supervise critical field activities to ensure safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include risk assessments, long-term forecasting, and generating End-of-Well reports, with a strong emphasis on technical integrity and knowledge sharing within the project team. Based in Villahermosa, Mexico.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in the operation and design of drilling for both exploratory and development wells.
• Knowledge of HP/HT wells, casing integrity tests, torque and drag analysis.
• Experience in direct on-site supervision of critical operations such as casing and liner cementing, TCP/WCP perforating runs, DST testing, and well completion operations.
• Experience in the integrated preparation of technical proposals and AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) generation.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Software proficiency: Compass, StressCheck, CasingSeat, and WellPlan.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day surveillance of drilling operations and ensure technical integrity of operations planning.
• Prepare and manage Appropriation for Expenditure (AFE) and monitor cost control.
• Develop Operation Plans and Basis of Design for projects.
• Participate in risk assessment, forecasts and long-term planning to meet program requirements.
• Prepare End-of-Well reports and contribute to knowledge management.
• Ensure effective communication within the project team.

Job Duties

Under direct supervision, the Well Engineer is responsible for well proposals and the Basis of Design. Provides Operation Plans and prepares Programs as well as assures technical integrity of Operations planning and execution. Responsible for the day-to-day surveillance of operations. Responsible for the creation of Approval for Expenditure (AFE) and performs cost control of operations. Participates in risk assessment, forecasts and plans medium and long term needs to meet program requirements, and anticipates operational changes and needs. Prepares equipment lists and identifies long lead items. Ensures proper communication within the project. Performs engineering studies to solve recurring problems. Prepares End-of-Well reports and contributes to knowledge management.
