The American Institute of Monterrey (AIM) within Inspired Schools is seeking a passionate Choir, Piano and Drama Teacher to inspire students through music and the performing arts. You will design engaging learning experiences that develop musical knowledge, creativity, and confidence across age groups.

Formación

• Strong musical expertise and high level of proficiency in the relevant instrument(s) and/or voice.
• Proven experience teaching instrumental and/or vocal lessons to children and young people.
• Experience preparing students for music examinations, auditions, concerts, and performances.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and personalise learning according to students' abilities and goals.
• Excellent planning, organisation, scheduling, and record-keeping skills.
• High proficiency in English; Spanish proficiency is desirable.
• Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and creating an inclusive learning environment.
• Flexibility to support school events, evenings, weekends, or holidays when required.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver high-quality, age-appropriate instrumental and/or vocal lessons.
• Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual students' learning needs and goals.
• Prepare students for concerts, recitals, assemblies, performances, auditions, and music examinations.
• Develop students' musical skills, including musicianship and performance techniques.
• Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
• Maintain records of attendance, progress, and lesson outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Fine Arts Supervisor and staff to coordinate timetables, rehearsals, and music initiatives.
• Support extracurricular activities such as choirs, ensembles, and music clubs.
• Foster a safe, inclusive learning environment promoting wellbeing and responsibility.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure spaces and activities are safe.

ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate and creative Choir, Piano and Drama Teacher to inspire students through the power of music and the performing arts. The teacher will design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences that develop students’ musical knowledge, creativity, confidence, and appreciation for different musical styles and cultures. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic educator and musician who can create an inspiring learning environment, encourage students to express themselves creatively, and contribute to AIM’s vibrant arts and wider school community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver high-quality, engaging, and age-appropriate instrumental and/or vocal lessons.
• Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual students' learning needs, abilities, and goals.
• Prepare students for concerts, recitals, assemblies, performances, auditions, and music examinations.
• Develop students' musical skills, including musicianship, performance techniques, creativity, and effective practice routines.
• Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and lesson outcomes, and contribute to reports as required.
• Collaborate with the Fine Arts Supervisor and other staff to coordinate timetables, rehearsals, performances, and wider music initiatives.
• Support extracurricular activities such as choirs, ensembles, music clubs, concerts, and festivals.
• Foster a safe, supportive, inclusive, and positive learning environment that promotes student wellbeing, self-discipline, and responsibility.
• Follow all safeguarding procedures and ensure instruments, resources, teaching spaces, and activities are used safely and appropriately.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

• A Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts, Music Teaching, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong musical expertise and a high level of proficiency in the relevant instrument(s) and/or voice.
• Proven experience teaching instrumental and/or vocal lessons to children and young people.
• Experience preparing students for music examinations, auditions, concerts, and performances.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and personalise learning according to students' abilities and goals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of varying ages and abilities.
• Excellent planning, organisation, scheduling, and record-keeping skills.
• High proficiency in English; Spanish proficiency is desirable.
• Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Flexibility and adaptability, including willingness to support school events, extracurricular activities, evenings, weekends, or holidays when required.
