Job summary

OSI Electronics in Tecate, Baja California, is seeking a Quality Engineer with a minimum of 3 years in automotive quality engineering to support EMS, SMT, PCBA, or Box Build operations. You will apply APQP methodologies and manage quality documentation, CAPA, and supplier quality issues.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in IATF 16949 core tools, and the ability to analyze metrics to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Engineering in automotive manufacturing (EMS/SMT/PCBA/Box Build).
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA and SPC.
• Experience supporting customer launches, product transfers and NPIs using APQP.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, PDCA and DMAIC.
• Experience maintaining PFMEAs, Control Plans, Work Instructions and inspection standards.
• Knowledge of SMT, PTH, Box Build and final assembly processes with defect analysis and validation.
• Experience managing customer complaints, CAPA, nonconforming material investigations and supplier quality issues.
• Ability to analyze quality metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with CSRs and OEM quality expectations.
• ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 knowledge; ISO 13485 a plus.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with customers, suppliers and auditors.
• Proficient in MS Office and quality data analysis.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities on a fast-paced line.
• Able to support audits and lead quality improvement projects.
• On-site work in Tecate, Baja California with global teams.
