Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Automation Engineer for Reliability Maintenance Engineering in IntlRME to fault find, troubleshoot and improve controls for automated material handling equipment across our facilities. You will be the SME for controls systems, train technicians, and collaborate with Global Controls to monitor MHE metrics and support installation and commissioning of new equipment.

The role requires PLC automation experience, 2+ years in conveyors, and a Bachelor’s degree; English

Qualifications

2+ years of automated conveyor systems and controls experience.
Experience with PLC controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment.
Experience in oral and written communication in English.

Responsibilities

Be the site level Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all controls systems and sensors within the building.
Train technicians in the basics of control systems fault finding to raise knowledge within the site.
Work within the Global Controls network to monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics and provide visualization and data to internal customers.
Actively participate in or own continuous improvement projects coordinated by the Global Controls network.
Work with Global Controls Engineering and Operations Engineering to ensure all systems are correctly documented and that accurate backup libraries are maintained.
Work alongside global teams to support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Support other sites in the Mexico network as required.
Interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings and developing improvement strategies for code conforming.
