Job summary

Hires is seeking a dynamic Application Engineer to support our client with engineering, commercial, and technical support across sales teams, distributors, and end-users. You will size equipment, prepare quotes, and demonstrate solutions while delivering strong customer service.

The role requires travel across Latin America and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive growth and provide end-to-end technical support from installation to maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering field.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of fluid dynamics and equipment sizing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, 3D models, P&IDs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sizing/pricing software.
• Excellent technical, communication, and customer service skills.
• Will ingness to travel periodically to Latin America.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and prepare accurate sales proposals, pricing, and delivery estimates using sizing software and technical catalogs.
• Size and select equipment, recommend modifications, identify cost reductions, and drive growth through cross-selling.
• Conduct technical presentations and hands-on training for customers, representatives, and distributors.
• Participate in customer meetings and occasional sales calls alongside Sales Managers and distributors.
• Provide end-to-end technical support for equipment installation, operation, and maintenance.
• Resolve field complaints, warranty issues, and quality claims professionally and effectively.
• Support custom product design, redesigns, and system modifications according to customer requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather competitive insights and support new product development.
