CobaltoTalent is seeking a Dedicated Senior Controller to oversee the financial health of US-based SMEs, leveraging AI to automate data processing, forecast cash flow, and deliver insightful reports. The role demands strong accounting expertise and strategic thinking in a fully remote LATAM setup.

You'll lead month-end close, build AI-enhanced financial models, manage cash flow forecasting, and coordinate with external CPAs for tax and compliance, while communicating clearly with executives.

Qualifications

• 4-6+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, or as a Controller.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and experience with US-based clients.
• Experience using Generative AI tools to write financial summaries or automate spreadsheets.
• Hands-on experience with cloud accounting platforms (QB Online, Xero, NetSuite) and their AI/automation integrations.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1) with executive communication and presentation skills.
• High integrity, autonomy, and drive to modernize financial workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes for US-based businesses.

Dedicated Senior Controller (AI-Enabled) Work Model: 100% Remote (LATAM)

About the Role We are seeking a highly analytical and forward-thinking Dedicated Senior Controller to oversee the financial health of growing US-based SMEs. In this role, you will go beyond traditional bookkeeping by leveraging modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to automate data processing, enhance financial forecasting, and provide strategic insights faster. The ideal candidate is a proactive finance leader who combines deep accounting expertise with a strong curiosity for how AI can streamline financial operations and eliminate manual data entry.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end and year-end financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance for US-based businesses.

• Leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT Advanced Data Analysis, Microsoft Copilot) to analyze large financial datasets, identify spending anomalies, and generate narrative reports on financial performance.

• Develop and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts, financial models, and annual budgets, using AI-assisted forecasting software to predict trends.

• Implement and oversee AI-driven OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and AP/AR automation tools (like Bill.com or Dext) to streamline invoice processing and reduce human error.

• Prepare and present monthly financial performance packages (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to executive leadership.

• Collaborate with external CPA firms for tax preparation and compliance requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4-6+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, or as a Controller.

• Strong understanding of US accounting principles (US GAAP) and experience working with US-based clients.

• Practical experience or strong proficiency in using Generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot for Finance) to write financial summaries, build macros, or write complex Excel formulas/scripts.

• Hands-on experience with cloud accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite, along with their native AI or automation integrations.

• Advanced English proficiency (C1) with excellent executive communication and presentation skills.

• High degree of integrity, autonomy, and a drive to modernize traditional financial workflows.
