GreenTriangle is on a mission to make farming more financially secure and sustainable by making crop insurance products accessible to farmers worldwide. Our work is essential to some of the largest (re-)insurers in the world, to help farmers manage the inherent volatility of the industry. We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer in Europe to join our team remotely and make a significant impact on the lives of farmers globally.

• improve the user experience with our web & mobile apps, used day-to-day on crop fields in various conditions (offline, in bad weather ...)
• understand agronomists' needs and translate them into product features
• help our clients' oversight of their portfolios with clear information and reporting
• build abstractions that enable us to reuse code across web, mobile, & server
• cram gigabytes of data into our Android and iOS apps

• A solid understanding of CS fundamentals / degree in Computer Science or related.
• A hacker ethos and the ability to move fast.
• A passion for building great products and making a real impact on the world.
• The ability to make product decisions independently while still being detail-oriented.

• Our team is less structured and people wear multiple hats.
• We are a remote-first team that meets on a quarterly basis to connect.

• We are mostly agnostic of people's background, as long as they're willing to learn!
• For our backend / frontend, we use Typescript & React / React Native and we've made one open source contribution.
• We use Postgresql & PostGIS to store & process everything else, from agronomic data to timeseries & vector graphics.
• We also use Python together with GDAL & Numpy to process terabytes of satellite imagery and deliver analyses within seconds.
