Job summary

Rohde & Schwarz in Italy is seeking a skilled field service technician to deliver on-site and remote technical services for our test and measurement solutions. You will calibrate, repair, upgrade, and validate products at customer sites and at our R&D facilities.

The role involves working with cross‑functional teams, documenting results, training users, and supporting incidents and service requests while adhering to strict quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Performing technical services (repair, calibration, upgrades, firmware) on R&D and third‑party products at the R&D site or customer sites.
• Following service processes and standards; evaluating test results to diagnose product status and actions.
• Documenting test results, service information and quality data.
• Providing technical training at R&D and customer sites.
• Handling incidents, service requests, suggestions, complaints and billing inquiries.
• First and second level remote support for customers.
• Coordinating installation, maintenance, and system support for R&D projects, including third‑party products.
• Analyzing and troubleshooting system errors at customer sites.
• Identifying weaknesses and devising corrective solutions.
• Drafting specifications for software changes and implementing them.
• Direct contact with internal and external customers.
• Recommending and implementing programs to meet customer needs.
• Preparing technical documentation for products and systems.
