Job summary

Alpitronic, based in Bolzano, Italy, is seeking a senior engineer to advance reliability and product quality in e-mobility systems. You will perform detailed root-cause analyses, define containment and preventive actions, and drive improvements across hardware and software with cross-functional teams.

You will contribute to failure-detection algorithms, validate requirements, and analyze field feedback to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Electronics Engineering or equivalent with power electronics knowledge.
• Strong background in R&D and system engineering with cross-functional experience.
• Experience with embedded C programming and microcontroller architectures.
• Proficiency in control simulations and hardware dimensioning tools.
• Solid problem-solving skills and root cause analysis methods (8D/Ishikawa/5 Whys).
• Familiarity with statistics, ERP, CAD, FEM, and standard office software.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration; fluent in English, Italian and/or German.

Job description

Your Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis and define containment, corrective, and preventive actions, from concept through design and implementation
• Contribute to the definition, validation, and continuous improvement of early failure detection algorithms, diagnostics, and monitoring software
• Translate analysis results and lessons learned into new or updated system and product requirements
• Analyze service tickets and field feedback to identify potential product and system‑level issues
• Investigate system logs, connectivity issues, and software update failures to detect patterns and anomalies
• Diagnose hardware, power electronics, and mechanical failures on returned units
• Classify faults according to frequency, root cause, severity, and customer impact
• Support the R&D organization in the investigation of quality claims and actively contribute to the 8D process for design‑related issues
• Define and provide clear technical repair instructions to internal and external repair centers and verify the effectiveness of implemented countermeasures
• Collaborate closely with the Data Science & Analysis team to leverage remotely available fleet data for system improvement and failure trend analysis

Your Qualifications & Skills

• MSc in Electronics Engineering or equivalent with proven knowledge of power electronics and related components
• Solid background and professional experience in R&D, System Engineering, with a strong understanding of design, validation, and complex cross‑functional processes
• Knowledge of C programming for embedded microcontrollers and microcontroller architectures
• Experience with simulation tools for control (e.g. Matlab/Simulink or equivalent) and hardware dimensioning (e.g. SPICE or equivalent)
• Strong skills in problem‑solving methodologies (8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys), root cause analysis, and corrective action management
• Familiarity with statistics, data analysis, ERP systems, CAD, FEM tools, and standard Office applications
• Excellent analytical thinking, abstraction, and system modeling skills, combined with proactiveness, autonomy, and self‑motivation
• Effective communicator with strong collaboration and negotiation skills, able to work across disciplines and organizational boundaries
• Fluent in English, Italian and/or German
