Job summary

Essentra Filter Products Kft. in Milan (BMP site) seeks a Buyer to manage procurement of direct and indirect materials for manufacturing operations.

You will collaborate with Production, Planning, Quality, and Warehouse teams to ensure material availability, cost efficiency, and on-time supplier deliveries. You will maintain supplier master data, issue POs in the ERP, and develop new suppliers domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Purchasing/Buyer role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Good understanding of procurement and supply chain processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to plan and manage multiple activities while meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across different business functions.
• Experience in cost analysis and cost reduction initiatives.
• Experience monitoring supplier performance through KPIs.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
• Knowledge of supplier quality processes and ISO standards.
• Experience in supplier sourcing, qualification, and development activities.
• Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process optimisation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement of assigned products and materials in accordance with company procedures, policies, and contractual agreements, working with existing suppliers.
• Maintain relationships with domestic and international suppliers for quotations, samples, quality-related matters, logistics information, and other procurement-related activities.
• Manage and maintain supplier master data.
• Create, issue, and update purchase orders within the company ERP system.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries and address any delays or supply issues.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop new suppliers at both national and international level.
• Analyse production requirements in collaboration with the Planning team to ensure timely material availability.
• Manage supplier-related non-conformities in cooperation with the Quality Department.
• Monitor supplier performance through defined KPIs and service level indicators.
• Prepare reports and analyses on purchasing costs, supplier performance, and commodity market trends.
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing procedures, policies, and Group procurement guidelines.
