Megatron Sensors in Italy seeks a Purchasing & Logistics Specialist to ensure material availability by translating production plans into timely replenishment actions, managing purchase orders in SAP, and coordinating with Production Planning and Warehouse to prevent shortages and support on-time delivery.

The role is operational, focusing on material planning, purchasing execution, inbound logistics, and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational purchasing, materials planning or supply chain coordination in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to plan replenishment and manage purchase orders, supplier follow-up and material shortages independently
• Good working knowledge of ERP/SAP purchasing, inventory and planning data
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with practical judgement when priorities conflict
• Clear communication and collaboration with suppliers, Production Planning, Warehouse and management
• Comfortable working hands-on in a small manufacturing business and improving processes pragmatically

Responsibilities

• Material Planning and Replenishment: Review MRP outputs, production plans, customer orders and available forecasts to determine material requirements over appropriate planning horizons.
• Define and maintain replenishment quantities, required dates and purchasing priorities, taking account of lead times, existing stock, open orders and agreed inventory parameters.
• Identify future shortages and excessive stock early; initiate corrective actions and reduce avoidable urgent or spot purchasing.
• Maintain reliable material-planning parameters and purchasing data in SAP; investigate exceptions and changes with the relevant functions.
