Job summary

Berlin Packaging is seeking a Senior ESG Governance & Reporting Lead (EMEA) to strengthen ESG governance, sustainability reporting, and performance management across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

This senior role coordinates CSRD/ESRS readiness, data governance, and audit readiness, collaborating with Finance, Legal, Procurement, HR and QHSE to translate regulatory requirements into actionable governance and reliable data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Political Science, Environmental Management, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5/7 years of relevant professional experience in sustainability reporting, ESG governance, non financial reporting, corporate sustainability, audit or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating complex, cross-functional reporting or transformation programs in an international environment.
• Hands-on experience with ESG data collection, consolidation, validation and reporting processes; experience with sustainability reporting platforms is strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting audit, assurance or internal-control processes related to sustainability information is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination and execution of the EMEA sustainability reporting roadmap, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and applicable reporting requirements.
• Coordinate CSRD and ESRS readiness and implementation activities, including governance, data collection, gap analysis, action planning, documentation and reporting deliverables.
• Define and maintain clear ESG reporting governance, including roles and responsibilities, data ownership, validation steps, approval flows, reporting calendars and escalation mechanisms.
• Ensure consistency, traceability and completeness of sustainability information across the EMEA legal entities, functions and reporting cycles.
• Coordinate EU Taxonomy eligibility and alignment assessment activities, including data collection, methodology development and cross-functional alignment with Finance and other relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate the preparation of sustainability disclosures, management updates and other internal or external ESG reporting outputs in collaboration with relevant contributors.
