Job summary

Prysmian in Milano, Lombardia, seeks a Laboratory Characterization Technician to support materials testing from raw materials to final products. You will prepare samples, perform tests, and collect data to understand how properties relate to processing conditions.

Job description

Team Overview and Job responsibilities

The activity consists in performing test on raw material and final products to define typical chemical-physical properties. Here below a list of characterization techniques:

• Thermal analysis (for transition phase determination – melting / crystallization)
• Mechanical analysis (elongation / strength / modulus vs temperature)
• Chemical analysis (spectroscopy methods)
• Sensitivity to environmental stresses evaluation (ex: humidity / heat / mechanical stresses)
• Microscopy analysis (optical and electron microscopy)

Core responsibilities:

• Preparation of samples for characterization activity (by microextruder, micro press)
• Test execution
• Data collection
• Data critical analysis (relationship between properties and process conditions)
