Job summary

Prysmian Group in Lombardia (Milano area) is seeking a dedicated scientist to conduct tests on raw materials and final products to define key chemical-physical properties.

You will perform thermal, mechanical, and chemical analyses, prepare samples, run tests, collect data, and analyze relationships between properties and process conditions in a collaborative laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in material science, chemistry, chemical and material engineering, CTF, biology.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to relate data to phenomena.
• Passionate about laboratory activities and data-driven problem solving.
• Ability to work in a team and learn/adapt to problem solving needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for characterization activity (by microextruder, micro press).
• Test execution and data collection.

Team Overview and Job responsibilities

The activity consists in performing test on raw material and final products to define typical chemical-physical properties.

Characterisation Techniques

• Thermal analysis (for transition phase determination – melting / crystallization)
• Mechanical analysis (elongation / strength / modulus vs temperature)
• Chemical analysis (spectroscopy methods)
• Sensitivity to environmental stresses evaluation (ex: humidity / heat / mechanical stresses)
• Microscopy analysis (optical and electron microscopy)

Core responsibilities

• Preparation of samples for characterization activity (by microextruder, micro press)
• Test execution
• Data collection
• Data critical analysis (relationship between properties and process conditions)
