Job summary

YellowSquare is seeking a Social Media Manager to shape and manage its social presence across Rome, Milan, Florence and Athens, working with the Marketing team and on‑the‑ground crews. You will build an editorial plan, create content for Instagram and TikTok, and translate travel moments into compelling posts that resonate with audiences.

You will write authentic English copy, spot trends, grow the online community, and oversee campaigns on Meta while analyzing performance to refine strategies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience managing social media for a brand, project or community.
• Ability to own an editorial calendar independently.
• Strong knowledge of Instagram and TikTok, beyond posting.
• Hands-on experience with Meta Ads Manager and budgets.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You’ll help shape and manage YellowSquare’s social presence, working closely with our Marketing team (graphic designers and a video maker) and with our teams on the ground in Rome, Milan, Florence and Athens.

You will:

• Build and manage our editorial content plan, from ideas to publishing
• Create content for Instagram, TikTok and other relevant platforms
• Turn what happens inside YellowSquare (people, events, cities, travel stories and random little moments) into content worth sharing
• Write copy in English that actually sounds like something a human would say
• Spot trends without blindly following every trend
• Manage and grow our online community
• Plan, launch and optimise paid campaigns on Meta, from targeting and budget management to A/B testing and performance analysis
• Monitor organic and paid performance and understand what worked, what didn’t and what we should try next
• Come up with new formats, ideas and experiments. A lot.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• You have previous experience managing social media for a brand, project or community, and you’re comfortable owning an editorial calendar independently.
• You understand Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn, beyond simply knowing how to post on them. You can recognise a good Reel, understand why something works and translate a brand identity into social content.
• You know your way around Meta Ads Manager — from setting up a campaign and defining the right audience to understanding whether it actually worked.
• You can write. You have a strong visual eye. You understand internet culture.
• And yes: you have travelled.
• Not necessarily to 40 countries. We don’t care about collecting passport stamps.
• But travelling has been part of your life, and you understand the curiosity, unpredictability and human connections that come with it.

MUST-HAVES

• Previous experience in Social Media / Content
• Experience managing an editorial content calendar
• Strong knowledge of Instagram and TikTok
• Hands-on experience with Meta Ads Manager
• Ability to set up campaigns, manage audiences and budgets, and analyse results
• Basic photo/video creation and editing skills
• Ability to read social media insights and turn data into better content
• A proactive, curious and independent approach
• Real travel experience
• You’ll be based in Rome or Milan, with the flexibility to travel and work across our hubs in Rome, Milan, Florence, and Athens (with all travel expenses fully covered).
• Advanced proficiency in both English and Italian; any additional language is always welcome.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience in travel, hospitality, lifestyle, events or community-driven brands.
• Experience working with creators and UGC.
• Knowledge of tools such as Canva, CapCut, Meta Business Suite and social scheduling/analytics platforms.

• Initial 6-month collaboration contract (Co.co.co) with a gross compensation equivalent to €24,000 – €26,000 per year (pro-rata).
