Job summary

Arkema seeks a Senior Research Scientist to drive innovation and optimization of lamination adhesives for flexible packaging in Europe. The role is based in Mozzate (CO) and reports to the Global R&D Director for AP&C Flexible Laminating.

The successful candidate will lead polymer chemistry programs, guide technicians, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-performance adhesives while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• PhD in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and 6-10 years’ experience in polymer chemistry, or MS/BS with 8-12 years in relevant experience.
• Profound knowledge of polyurethane, polyester and acrylics for lamination adhesives.
• Understanding of adhesion theory and reaction kinetics in polyurethane chemistry.
• Experience with converting industry processes for flexible food packaging and/or industrial applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D projects on lamination adhesives for flexible packaging.
• Mentor R&D technicians and lead department safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance product performance and regulatory compliance.
