Allianz Spa in Milan is seeking a Senior Property and Liability Underwriter to lead the Italian market strategy for P&L risks. You will align with the Property Team Leader and work across Sales, Risk Consulting, Claims, and product lines to meet corporate targets.

The role requires 9–15 years of underwriting experience, a Master’s degree, leadership and strong English skills. You’ll steer local portfolios, ensure governance, and influence product development and partnerships.

• Master's degree in Engineering, Economics or Law.
• 9–15 years of proven underwriting experience in Property (PD/BI, Theft and Liability) for Corporate Clients.
• Leadership skills and ability to work in an international organization.
• Strong risk assessment, pricing knowledge and market analysis.
• Experience in designing wordings and driving underwriting projects is a plus.
• Fluent English, data analytics capability and collaboration tools proficiency.

SENIOR PROPERTY AND LIABILITY UNDERWRITER

Based in Milan and reporting to the Property Team Leader, you will be in charge of developing and executing the strategy for the Property & Liability risks into the Italian market. With strong ties to the Group, you will also support the local strategy to ensure the successful achievement of the Allianz Mid Corporate targets. You will be also the contact person for selected agents working with the Mid-Corporate team.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines.
• Steer and control the portfolio at local level to drive the achievement of financial targets.
• Proactively liaise with functional areas to review performance of end-to-end underwriting life cycle.
• Work closely with Sales departments, Risk Consulting, Claims and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, including cross-selling.
• Ensure underwriting consistency and underwriting discipline and adherence to all corporate guidelines and authority levels, including Rules and Principles, Underwriting Authorities, corporate governance rules and local regulatory framework.
• Proactively support the development and implementation of new and/or modified products
• Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including agent and broker negotiations)
• Communicate local business strategy externally

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

• Master's degree in Engineering or Economics or Law
• 9-15 years proven experience in underwriting profitable Property including both PD/BI and Theft and Liability business for Corporate Clients
• Preference if also experienced in Multinational clients.
• Proven leadership skills
• Expertise in risk assessment and a firm understanding of policy administration life cycle.
• Sound knowledge of pricing, together with strong market analysis skills
• Ideally experience in designing, developing, and implementing consistent and robust wordings
• Ideally experience in driving underwriting projects
• Entrepreneurial mindset
• Strong communication skills
• Able to work in an international organization.
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken)

  Pursuant to Article 5(1) of Legislative Decree No. 96 of 7 May 2026, as amended and supplemented from time to time, the range applicable to the position offered is between € 50.000,00 gross and € 65.000,00 gross. Employment will be subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the National Collective Labor Agreement for Insurance Companies and the applicable Company Agreement. The final determination of the starting remuneration will be based on an evaluation of the candidate's qualifications, skills, and relevant experience in relation to the requirements of the role.
