Allianz Italia in Turbigo is seeking a Risk Engineering Team Leader to develop strategies for corporate and construction risks in the Italian market. This role involves ensuring compliance with underwriting authority and financial targets, while also supporting product development and business acquisition.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Engineering and 15-25 years of experience in underwriting, along with expertise in risk assessment and strong leadership skills. The position offers competitive remuneration based on experience.

Overview

Based in Milan and leading the Risk Engineering Team, you will be in charge of developing and executing the strategy for the Constructions and Corporate Client risks into the Italian market. You will also support the local strategy to ensure the successful achievement of the Allianz Mid Corporate targets and act as a contact person for agents and/or brokers working with the Risk Engineering Team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines
• Steer and control the portfolio at local level to drive the achievement of financial targets
• Proactively liaise with functional areas to review performance of end-to-end underwriting life cycle
• Work closely with Sales departments, Risk Consulting, Claims and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, including cross-selling
• Ensure underwriting consistency and discipline and adherence to all corporate guidelines and authority levels, including Rules and Principles, Underwriting Authorities, corporate governance rules and local regulatory framework
• Proactively support the development and implementation of new and/or modified products
• Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including agent and broker negotiations)
• Communicate local business strategy externally

Key Requirements / Skills / Experience

• Master's degree in Industrial, Civil, Construction or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Between 15 and 25 years of proven experience in underwriting profitable Risk Engineering for corporate and construction risks as well as Engineering Professional Firms
• Proven leadership skills
• Expertise in risk assessment and a firm understanding of policy administration life cycle
• Sound knowledge of pricing, together with strong market analysis skills
• Ideally experience in designing, developing, and implementing consistent and robust wordings
• Ideally experience in driving underwriting projects
• Entrepreneurial mindset
• Strong communication skills
• Able to work in an international organization
• Fluent in English and Italian (both written and spoken)
• Data Analytics
• Very good knowledge in Office 365 and other collaborative tools

Pursuant to Article 5(1) of Legislative Decree No. 96 of 7 May 2026, as amended and supplemented from time to time, the range applicable to the position offered is between € 75.000 gross and € 90.000 gross. Employment will be subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the National Collective Labor Agreement for Insurance Companies and the applicable Company Agreement. The final determination of the starting remuneration will be based on an evaluation of the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and relevant experience in relation to the requirements of the role.
