Job summary

Hitachi Energy Italy in Milan, Lombardy, Italy, is seeking an experienced engineer to lead and coordinate multi-discipline teams for GIS/AIS projects within the Grid & Power Quality Solutions. The role involves proposals, risk analysis, site support, and subcontract management while ensuring compliance with safety and contractual requirements.

Proficiency in English and Italian is required. The position is full-time in Milan with a starting salary around 52,700 EUR gross annually; final offer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical/Energy/Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
• 5/7 years of relevant experience in GIS (gas insulated switchgear) and/or AIS (air insulated switchgear) and/or EPC power plants.
• Ability to coordinate projects and people.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Italian.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and apply standard techniques for conventional projects.
• Act as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline.
• Collaborate on project installation, commissioning and site activities and provide technical support.
• Assist in creating proposals and perform risk analysis before submitting proposals.
• Oversee subcontract creation and management, including supply chain coordination.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with safety regulations and contractual requirements.
• Lead and coordinate small engineering teams on low-complexity projects (≤5 people).
