Greentalent is seeking a Senior Pilot Plant Process Engineer to lead operations in an innovative recycling technology start-up. Candidates should have a Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical Engineering and 5-8 years of relevant experience. Greentalent, recruiter specialized in search and selection of professionals and managers in the Energy, Engineering and Environment market, on behalf of a start-up which has developed an innovative proprietary technology for molecular recycling of plastic waste, is looking for a:

Senior Pilot Plant Process Engineer

The ideal candidate holds a university degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry or related field and has a relevant experience in chemical plant operations, pilot plant management, or process engineering. The candidate will lead the operations of the company pilot plant, oversee the daily operations closely with Engineering, R&D and Operations teams to refine and scale up the chemical process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execution of the experimental campaigns: perform data acquisition and analysis, interpret experimental data, assess system performance, identify operational bottlenecks, limitations, and critical parameters, and verify equipment and instrumentation functionality;
  • Technical ownership of our pilot plant asset supporting Operations team: ensure safe, continuous, and reliable functioning of the facility, manage the procurement of spare parts, equipment, and materials required for smooth day-to-day operation, support pilot plant operation for maintenance and upgrades, definition and preparation of the operating procedures of the pilot plant;
  • Provide data to and support the Process Engineering group engaged in developing and delivering the licensor’s PDP;
  • Participation to project meetings and safety risk assessment carrying the practical experience built on pilot plant;
  • Continuously develop and improve the process in terms of equipment reliability, material and components selection, operability, constructability, the most suitable instrumentation;
  • Foster constructive and goal-oriented collaboration within the technical group (Engineering, Operation, R&D), promoting knowledge exchange, alignment on priorities, and a shared commitment to project success. Actively contributes to the consolidation of a high-performing technical team by encouraging a proactive and data-driven problem-solving mindset.
Main Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field;
  • At least 5-8 years of experience of experience in chemical plant operations, pilot plant management, or process engineering;
  • Strong hands-on experience in chemical process unit operations (e.g., reaction, separation, heat transfer, automation, and solids handling);
  • Familiarity with chemical plant equipment, machinery, and instrumentation;
  • Ability to interpret experimental data and optimize process conditions;
  • Systematic approach to pilot plant testing;
  • Understanding of safety regulations and environmental compliance;
  • Good proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
