Process Engineer

About the role

The candidate will support the “Head of Circular Economy” in the Engineering & Projects activities associated with the initiatives in the “Circular Economy”.

The candidate will actively contribute to expanding the business development pipeline by generating new project opportunities with potential clients. Additionally, the candidate will assist in preparing, following up and securing the acquisition of new contracts for NextChem.

Key Activities & Responsibilities
  • Develop Process Design activities during proposal and project execution phase in compliance with time, quality and budget requirements
  • Design, develop and implement all process design activities relevant to the technologies in the portfolio
  • Carry out process analysis and simulations to evaluate the efficiency of the processes
  • Prepare Heat and Material Balance
  • Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
  • Equipment sizing and process data sheet compilation
  • Definition and sizing of lines
  • PSV, Control Valves calculation and sizing
  • Logical definition and control loops
  • HazOp, HazId support
  • Prepare Process Duty Specifications for RFQ and provide support for the technical process compliance
  • Provide support to engineering disciplines in the development of detailed design.
  • Carry out feasibility studies
  • Assist with the supervision of new plant and machinery installation, as well as start-up operations.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate process performance
  • Knowledge of international best practices and engineering standards
Personal Attributes

Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, 5-7 years of experience in similar roles with aptitude for learning chemical processes and production activities
  • Knowledge of production processes, production methods and technologies
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (ASPEN, HYSYS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD basic features
  • Excellent use of MS Office system (especially MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point)
Experience
  • Proven professional experience in the chemical, petrochemical, refining or fuel sectors, with involvement or exposure to sustainability initiatives (i.e. strategic business repositioning, access to new sustainable technologies) or special projects concerning circular economy or energy transition.
  • Proven experience developing Feasibility, process Design Packages, Basic Design Packages, FEED and EPC Projects
