Black & White Engineering is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical scope on data centre projects, guiding conception through commissioning while ensuring high performance, resilience and compliance.

You will act as the primary technical contact for major clients across Europe, mentor junior engineers within multidisciplinary teams, and collaborate with electrical, structural, architectural, sustainability and BIM specialists to deliver integrated, cost-effective

Competenze

• Strong experience in mechanical building services design, ideally within mission critical environments such as data centres, healthcare, or high tech manufacturing.
• Solid knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and energy modelling principles.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, IES VE and CFD simulation software.
• Proven leadership across complex technical projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards it) with a recognised institution (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE).

You will take ownership of the mechanical scope across large-scale, mission-critical data centre projects. You’ll influence design decisions from concept through commissioning, ensuring high performance, resilience, and compliance.

Technical leadership & innovation

You’ll be the go to expert for mechanical design developing systems such as HVAC, chilled water, CRAC units and fire protection while helping drive continuous improvement and standardisation across engineering processes.

Client facing influence

You will act as the primary technical contact for major clients across Europe. Your strategic insight and design assurance will strengthen relationships and elevate delivery excellence.

You will guide and mentor junior engineers within multidisciplinary teams. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the next generation of mechanical engineering talent while building your own leadership profile.

Cross disciplinary collaboration

You will work closely with electrical, structural, architectural, sustainability and BIM specialists to deliver integrated, efficient and cost effective project solutions.
