Bryden Wood is expanding its Milan team to work on large-scale Data Centre and Pharmaceutical projects. We seek a Senior Mechanical/HVAC Engineer to lead technical delivery, coordinating with Architecture, Structures, Civils and Sustainability.

You will guide mechanical design, supervise engineers, and ensure compliance with Italian regulations while collaborating across Europe with our UK HQ.

Competenze

  • Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Energy Engineering or equivalent.
  • Deep knowledge of Italian regulations.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience, preferably with Data Centre, mission critical or Pharmaceutical projects in Italy.
  • Solid experience on large-scale industrial, infrastructure or complex building services projects (Data Centre experience valued).
  • Experience in producing, delivering and signing off official submissions to local authorities.
  • Fluency in Italian and English.
  • Project management: autonomous leadership with ability to coordinate small teams.

At Bryden Wood, we are expanding our team in Milan to work on large scale projects for the biggest names in "Big Tech" and Pharmaceutical sectors.

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical / HVAC Engineer to lead the technical delivery of our Data Centre and large-scale Pharmaceutical projects. THE ROLE

You will be the mechanical lead of our projects in Italy as well as a key member on other international projects, working closely with all the other disciplines (Architecture, Structures, Civils and Sustainability) and clients to deliver innovative designs.

  • Lead mechanical technical design (HVAC, cooling, piping and ventilation) for all project stages, from concept to construction, including calculations, concept development, project coordination, H&S, risk management and project delivery.
  • Supervise and coordinate teams of engineers and technicians, assigning tasks, providing technical guidance and ensuring team cohesion toward project goals.
  • Identify and specify appropriate mechanical equipment and components to meet project objectives, considering energy efficiency, reliability, redundancy and system compatibility.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of critical cooling systems, variable flow closed-circuit water systems, chilled water applications and mechanical equipment selection.
  • Carry out hydraulic system calculations, including pump sizing, pressure drop analysis and flow control for chilled water applications.
  • Work concurrently on multiple projects from concept through to delivery.
  • Use a solution-based approach to solve complex thermal and fluid dynamic problem
  • Ensure full compliance with Italian regulations.
  • Produce and sign off official submissions to local authorities.
  • Manage project coordination, QA/QC procedures and risk management.
  • Mentor junior engineers and liaise with senior management on project escalations.
WHAT WE NEED
  • Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Energy Engineering or equivalent.
  • Must-Have: Deep knowledge of Italian regulations.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience, preferably with previous experience in Data Centre, mission critical or Pharmaceutical projects in Italy.
  • Solid experience on large-scale industrial, infrastructure or complex building services projects. Experience in Data Centre projects will be highly valued.
  • Experience in producing, delivering and possibly signing off official submissions to local authorities.
  • Language: Full professional fluency in spoken and written Italian and English.
  • Project management: Proven experience in mechanical project management, with the ability to provide autonomous leadership and coordinate small teams of engineers.
  • Revit & Navisworks: Competent in the use of Revit and Navisworks.
