Job summary

Ramboll is seeking an Associate/Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead Datacentre mechanical design and deliverables. You will guide a team, collaborate with the electrical counterpart, and take a client-facing leadership role on projects under your supervision.

You will drive technical delivery, use CAD/Bluebeam/BIM tools, and ensure sustainable, resilient cooling and support systems, while mentoring engineers and coordinating resources.

Qualifications

• For this role you should be a qualified Engineer with a proven track record in their discipline.
• Experience working with mission critical systems in datacentre or similar critical engineering environments.
• An accredited honours degree (CIBSE/IET/IMechE) or an HNC with commitment to further study.
• Progress toward IEng or CEng status is preferred.
• You should be an excellent communicator capable of simplifying complex concepts.
• Interest in or experience with digital and parametric design tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design delivery on Datacentre projects and supervise engineers.
• Coordinate with the electrical team and manage client-facing communications.
• Drive project delivery with minimal supervision on technical aspects.
• Develop solutions using CAD, Bluebeam, calculations and BIM collaboration.
• Produce detailed designs and mentor team members.
• Build client confidences and manage project timelines.
• Coordinate tasks as Mechanical lead to meet deadlines and allocate resources.
