Job summary

Epassi is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Benefits to own the technical direction, delivery, and reliability of the Benefits domain. You will lead a four-to-six engineer team as the business expands into new markets and broadens its product offering.

You’ll report to the Director of Engineering and shape architecture, coding standards, and release quality while building an inclusive culture that scales with growth.

Qualifications

• You have 5+ years of hands-on software engineering with backend focus.
• You have 4+ years leading backend/platform engineering teams.
• You are proficient in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
• You have experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, and PostgreSQL.
• You understand service reliability, observability, and API governance.
• You have fintech/payments experience a strong plus.
• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, CS, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop Benefits engineers, removing blockers.
• Drive execution of the Benefits roadmap with quality and on time.
• Own the reliability and quality of Benefits services, including API contracts and SLAs.
• Recruit and build an inclusive, high-performing team.
• Collaborate with Product, Staff/Principal Engineers, Quality, and DevOps on scalable architecture.
• Set engineering standards and promote automation and AI-native development.
