Epassi in Milan is seeking a React Native Engineer to own the mobile applications end-to-end, delivering a cohesive experience on iOS and Android and shaping the release infrastructure for scale.

You will report to the Head of Engineering Italy in a hybrid role, collaborate across B2C and B2B apps, and push quality from development through store publication with a product mindset.

We are currently hiring a React Native Engineer based in Milan (hybrid work).

Your mission at Epassi

You will report to the Head of Engineering Italy and join the engineering team in Italy. This is a new role created to bring dedicated mobile ownership to our B2C and B2B apps. You will own the mobile applications end-to-end (from development through build pipelines and store publication) and work closely with backend and web engineers to make sure mobile concerns are built in from the start, not bolted on at the end. This is a hands-on role for someone who treats the apps as a product, takes release quality seriously, and doesn't need a dedicated mobile squad around them to get things done.

Your responsibilities will be:

• Own the mobile applications end-to-end: development, build pipelines, and publication on the App Store and Google Play for both the B2C and B2B apps
• Drive cross-platform quality and parity, ensuring a consistent, high-performance experience on iOS and Android and resolving platform-specific issues proactively
• Work closely with backend engineers to design and consume APIs, making sure mobile concerns, offline behaviour, latency, data efficiency, are represented early in design discussions
• Establish and maintain testing practices (unit, integration, E2E) and own the QA process for mobile releases, reducing defect escape rate
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines for mobile, reducing manual steps and increasing release confidence

You’ll be successful in this role if you:

• Deliver all apps on a stable, documented release cadence with no critical store incidents
• Drive a measurable improvement in app performance metrics (crash rate, ANR, load times) compared to baseline
• Build and maintain a CI/CD pipeline for mobile that is automated, reliable, and adopted by the team
• Put a real testing strategy in place that the team actually uses

What you should bring:

• 3+ years with React Native in production, with apps live on both iOS and Android
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally without a dedicated mobile squad
• Hands‑on experience with app store submission processes, signing, and compliance
• Solid understanding of REST API integration and mobile-specific concerns (caching, retry, auth flows)
• Experience using AI coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude) as a genuine productivity multiplier, you know when to trust and when to verify
• Experience with web development (React + TypeScript) is a plus
• An ownership mindset: you treat the apps as a product, flag risks before they become incidents, and follow through

Your language profile:

Fluent Italian and English required, written and spoken.
