Leaf Space is seeking a senior DSP Engineer for Space-Base Mesh Networks to design, implement and optimize signal-processing and communication algorithms for a distributed satellite constellation. You will work with senior technical leaders to develop resilient, high-performance networking technologies for LEO missions.

This role blends DSP expertise with hands-on FPGA development, space-system constraints, and cross-link challenges unique to orbital environments.

Competenze

• Hands-on experience with C/C++ for embedded DSP implementations.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python (NumPy/SciPy) for modeling and prototyping.
• Extensive FPGA development experience: synthesis, timing, verification, bring-up.
• Proficiency with HDLs: Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog, or Chisel.
• Space-qualified or radiation-tolerant platform experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with RF communications; beamforming or optical links is a plus.
• Ability to optimize algorithms for real-time constraints and power limits.

Mansioni

• Design and implement DSP algorithms for satellite communications and cross-link protocols.
• Model and simulate RF/optical link performance under orbital dynamics.
• Develop HDL blocks and FPGA architectures for low-latency inter-satellite links.
• Collaborate with RF, antenna, networking, and spacecraft teams for integration.
• Perform system-level analyses: link budgets, timing closure, resource usage.
• Document designs and results for internal teams and partners.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.
