Job summary

SAI S.p.A. in Modena, Italy, seeks a mid-level or senior technical sales professional with a degree in engineering and at least five years’ experience selling hydraulic or mechanical components to OEMs.

You will develop sales in the assigned area, manage existing customers, analyse applications with the technical department, prepare quotations, and coordinate with distributors while travelling in Italy and abroad.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related discipline, or a technical diploma with equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in technical sales of hydraulic or mechanical components to OEMs with direct sales responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop sales in the assigned area in line with management strategies.
• Manage and retain existing customers and acquire new ones (OEMs and distributors).
• Analyze customer applications and define technical solutions with the technical department.
• Prepare quotations and lead negotiations through to contract.
• Monitor orders and deliveries for the customers in charge.
• Coordinate with distributors in the area and attend trade fairs and industry events.
• Provide regular reporting to management on sales, market and competition.

Qualification: Employee / Middle manager

Profile of the ideal candidate: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline, or a technical diploma with equivalent experience. At least 5 years of experience in technical sales of hydraulic or mechanical components to machine manufacturers (OEMs), with direct responsibility for a sales area.

Required skills:

• Excellent command of English; a second language (German, French or Spanish) is a plus;


• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and ability to read technical drawings;


• Strong negotiation and customer relationship skills;


• Independent, well organised and results-oriented;


• Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad.

Activities under his responsibility:

• Developing sales in the assigned area, in line with the strategies agreed with Management;


• Managing and retaining existing customers and acquiring new ones, both machine manufacturers and distributors;


• Analysing customer applications and defining the technical solution together with the technical department;


• Preparing quotations and leading negotiations through to contract;


• Monitoring orders and deliveries for the customers in charge;


• Coordinating with the distributors in the area;


• Attending trade fairs and industry events;


• Regular reporting to Management on sales, market and competition.
