Job summary

Opdenergy is seeking a Grid Connection Engineer in Italy, based in Bologna with remote work options. You will manage the full grid connection process, draft HV connection applications, and coordinate with Terna and distributors. The role involves technical analysis, permitting support, and tender management.

A 2–3 year track record in electrical connections for renewables is preferred. Opdenergy offers a permanent contract with opportunities for growth, along with meals vouchers and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in Electrical or Energy Engineering or an equivalent field.
• 2–3 years of experience in electrical connections for renewable projects.
• Proven experience in HV substation construction.
• Experience with grid works in collaboration with E-distribuzione.
• Knowledge of the Italian Grid Connection Process (and TICA).
• Familiarity with technical regulations for grid connection in Italy and Terna processes.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and project drawings.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; English proficiency; Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end grid connection processes with grid operators (e-distribuzione, Terna, etc.).
• Draft and submit medium/high voltage grid connection applications.
• Analyze technical outcomes and verify feasibility of connections.
• Support development, permitting, and electrical design aspects of projects.
• Coordinate with legal, permitting, and project management teams; estimate costs and schedule interconnection works.
• Prepare tender documents, review bids, and select contractors.
• Supervise engineering and construction activities for grid connection works.
• Conduct site surveys and audits during construction; assist commissioning phases.
