Job summary

Jobgether is partnering to recruit an Engineering Manager, Automation Intelligence for a fully remote role based in Italy. You will lead a high-impact team delivering advanced bot-detection capabilities, AI-assisted development, and scalable APIs while guiding product from beta to commercial launch.

You will establish engineering standards, drive observability, and collaborate with product management and customers to ensure reliability, performance, and secure deployments in a fast-growing SaaS

Qualifications

• Engineering Management experience: at least three years managing software engineers.
• Strong technical foundation: at least eight years of software engineering experience.
• Domain expertise in bot detection, web security, or high-volume API services.
• Quality-driven engineering with measurement-driven processes including test datasets and SLIs.
• Hands-on AI coding experience with AI agents and automation tools.
• Product & cross-functional leadership with PMs, researchers, and customers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain performance to stakeholders.
• Team building and autonomy: develop high-performing teams and clear ownership.
• Preferred bot detection & security experience.
• Preferred AI agent knowledge.
• Preferred browser & automation expertise.
• Preferred API & platform experience with OpenAPI & SDKs.
• Preferred organizational experience building new teams.
• Preferred SaaS enterprise experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering roadmap from beta through GA and commercial launch with product management.
• Define service reliability targets, throughput, latency, SLOs, and availability.
• Establish a continuous detection quality framework with datasets, tests, and monitoring.
• Guide detection for AI agents, assistants, and automation frameworks; refine classification.
• Manage staged rollouts with feature flags and rollback procedures.
• Lead, coach, and develop a small team of senior engineers.
• Introduce engineering standards, code reviews, and performance benchmarks.
• Collaborate across teams to reduce dependencies and enable independent deployment.
• Lead an AI-native development workflow with human oversight for critical changes.
• Evaluate AI-assisted development against baselines and share lessons.
• Ensure APIs follow a contract-first approach with OpenAPI specifications and SDKs.
• Own observability and communicate progress to leadership and partners.
