G.D S.p.A., part of Coesia, in Bologna, Italy, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Engineering department and lead projects from concept to completion within the Flexpack team. You will design mechanical components and small machine groups, modify existing units, draft technical documentation, and support installation and testing with cross-functional collaboration.

Travel up to 15-20% is expected.

Competenze

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• At least 3 years of hands-on mechanical design experience.
• Proficient in parametric CAD (Creo) and CAD tools; eager to learn SAP and Oracle.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 15–20%.

About the Role:

We are seeking a mechanical engineer to join our Engineering department, supporting the Flexpack projects team. The successful candidate will work alongside Senior Mechanical Designers, managing projects from concept to completion, to develop full autonomy.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will:

• Design mechanical components as well as small machine groups;
• Modify already existing machine groups, develop whole machine functions;
• Draft relevant technical documentation;
• Support the assembly and testing department for ongoing modifications;
• Support the installation department on customer field;
• Strong collaboration with the Electronics, Pneumatics and Kinematics Departments;
• Design review with cross-functional team;
• Seek for AI application opportunities inside Technical department;
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation activities within the engineering team

The position is based in Bologna (Italy).

What You Need to Be Successful:

To be successful in the role, you must have a strong and keen interest in designing activities and an innate aptitude for working with customers and colleagues. You are a team player.

More specifically:

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related.
• Previous experience of at least 3 years;
• Know parametric designing tools. Understanding of Creo Modelling and CAD Tools will be considered a plus;
• You are willing to learn SAP and Oracle. If you already have, it will be considered a plus;
• You feel at ease speaking, reading, and writing in English;
• You are thrilled about potential business trips (15-20%);
• You are handy, flexible, and curious.
• Previous experience of teamwork (also at sport/university level)
• You are willing to use AI as a key success factor. If you already have experiences about this topic, it will be considered as a plus

Our Offer:

Compensation for this role includes a base salary starting from EUR 40,000, in line with experience. The actual offer may exceed this minimum based on the candidate's qualifications and fit for the role.

A range of additional benefits (e.g., insurances, etc.) is also available in accordance with Company policy.

The applicable collective agreement is the CCNL Metalmeccanico.
