LHH Recruitment Solutions is assisting a well-established manufacturing group in Italy to recruit a Production & Quality Control Manager. The role oversees production, quality and procurement, driving operational excellence and profitability.

You'll lead a cross-functional team, ensure KPI achievement for productivity, quality and on-time delivery, and promote continuous improvement across a highly customized production environment. Fluent English required; Italian language beneficial.

Competenze

• Degree in mechanical/industrial/management engineering or equivalent technical background.
• Proven leadership experience in manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes in customized or engineer‑to‑order settings.
• Experience coordinating Production, Quality, and Supply Chain functions.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge; Six Sigma, SMED, and 5S are a plus.
• Experience with ERP/MES systems; familiarity with Opera MES, CyberPlan and Mago ERP is a plus.
• Fluent English mandatory for international stakeholder interactions.

The successful candidate will play a key role withinthe organization, overseeing production, quality, and procurement activitieswhile ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, customer serviceexcellence, and overall business profitability.

Operating in a highly customized manufacturingenvironment, the selected professional will work cross-functionally withdifferent departments to ensure effective control and coordination of theentire operational and production value chain.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

The Production & Quality Control Manager will beresponsible for ensuring the effective performance of production, quality, andprocurement processes while fostering a culture of continuous improvement andoperational excellence.

Keyresponsibilities include:

• Coordinating and supervising production, assembly, mechanical machining, and quality control activities.
• Managing and developing a direct reporting team composed of:
• Quality Specialist;
  
• Production Planning Manager;
  
• Workshop Supervisor;
  
• Purchasing Manager.
• Ensuring achievement of KPIs related to productivity, quality, on‑time delivery, and service performance.
• Overseeing planning and procurement processes, ensuring the optimal balance between material availability, production capacity, and business requirements.
• Collaborating with technical and commercial departments to manage customer projects and specific client requirements.
• Supervising the company's Quality Management System, promoting preventive and corrective actions aimed at enhancing performance and customer satisfaction.
• Identifying operational issues and implementing continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, efficiency enhancement, and process optimization.
• Supporting the evolution and implementation of digital tools and systems related to manufacturing and supply chain management.
• Interfacing with Group stakeholders within an international business environment.

Your Profile

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, or equivalent technical background.
• Proven experience in leadership positions within manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes, preferably within highly customized or engineer-to-order production settings.
• Demonstrated experience in coordinating Production, Quality, and Supply Chain functions.
• Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies.
• Knowledge of the following methodologies will be considered a strong advantage:
• Six Sigma;
  
• SMED;
  
• 5S.
• Experience with ERP, MES, and advanced production planning systems.
• Familiarity with platforms such as Opera MES, CyberPlan, and Mago ERP will be considered a plus.
• Fluent English is mandatory, as the role requires regular interaction with international stakeholders and Group functions.
