PPG Industries, Inc. in Italy is seeking a Production Area Manager to support daily operations, coordinate production, and contribute to safety, quality, and productivity initiatives in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment.

The role develops leadership skills and offers hands-on experience, with emphasis on Lean manufacturing, cost efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration across Logistics, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering.

Competenze

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, with team leadership, shift leadership, or supervising roles.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing or related process industries preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, plant operations, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP experience is a plus.

Mansioni

• Support department management, coordinating daily operations and production schedules.
• Monitor production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets.
• Learn and apply OEM standards, technical specifications, and industry requirements (IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
• Assist supervisors and operators in maintaining efficient workflows and resolving day-to-day issues.
• Monitor KPIs (efficiency, scrap, cycle times) and participate in improvement actions.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing and problem-solving initiatives.
• Promote and support compliance with workplace safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with Logistics, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to ensure smooth production flows.
• Support maintenance planning with maintenance teams on preventive and corrective interventions.
• Contribute to employee training and onboarding to ensure adherence to procedures.
• Prepare reports and communicate production updates to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Develop leadership and people management skills through coaching and hands-on experience.
