SKF Group in Airasca, Italy is seeking an engineer to design and industrialize hub bearing units for major automotive and mobility customers. The role sits in PV Wheel End Engineering and involves product development from RFQ to production, with global scope and cross-functional collaboration across manufacturing, engineering and project teams.

• University degree in Engineering (Mechanics, Aerospace, Automotive, Materials).
• High engineering knowledge (materials, CAE, design, testing).
• Experience with 3D modeling systems; PTC Creo is beneficial.
• Experience with DFMEA/PFMEA tools.
• Experience in automotive area is beneficial.
• Proficiency in Italian; fluent English; German language skills welcomed.
• Willingness to travel.

PV Wheel End Engineering team is responsible for global development of HBU solutions for Wheel applications. Our customers are all major global and local OEMs and new mobility players.

Key responsibilities

• Design and industrialize hub bearing units for all major players in the AM market
• Develop products to satisfy customer requirements along the full product lifecycle, from RFQ to production and field implementation
• Drive and promote innovation for SKF wheel end solutions to strengthen SKF technical leadership
• Identify best technical solutions for the customer requirements for developing the complete technical package
• Optimize product characteristics interacting with manufacturing units, process development teams, application engineering and project management teams
• Interact with customers’ engineering teams within ETO and advanced development projects
• Promote continuous improvement of tools & methodologies, design process and standard and practices

Requirements

• University degree in Engineering (Mechanics, Aerospace, Automotive, Materials)
• High engineering knowledge (materials, CAE, design, testing)
• Knowledge on 3D modeling systems (PTC Creo is beneficial)
• Experience with problem solving tools and knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA tools
• Experience in automotive area is beneficial
• The role requires proficiency in Italian and fluency in English, including writing and speaking abilities, and welcomes candidates with German language skills
• Experience with Design for Six Sigma is advantageous
• Availability for travelling

For this position, the starting point of the salary range is a gross annual salary (base salary) of €36.000. The compensation package also includes company performance-related bonuses.

The National Labor Contract applied is “CCNL Industria Metalmeccanica”.
