Saipem, a global leader in engineering and construction for energy and infrastructure, is seeking a Piping Flexibility Engineer to join the ENCAR (Energy Carriers) Division. You will contribute to FEED or EPC projects, ensuring robust piping stress analysis and reliable support design.

Responsibilities include verification of documents, development of stress and FEA, interface with multi-disciplinary teams, and field support during construction.

Competenze

• Education: Technical Diploma or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: minimum 8 years as Piping Flexibility Engineer in energy sectors.
• Languages: English (B2) and Italian (C1).
• Familiar with 3D visualization and material management software.

Mansioni

• Verify contractual documents and ensure compliance with standards.
• Develop stress calculations and piping support designs per specs.
• Review documentation from providers and partners.
• Interface with Civil, Equipment, Process teams.
• Perform FEA for piping components and vibrational analyses.
• Coordinate service providers and field construction support.
• Travel internationally as project needs dictate.

Piping Flexibility Engineer

As Piping Flexibility Engineer, you will respond to the Head of Layout and Piping Engineering Department and be part of the ENCAR (Energy Carriers) Division and assigned to FEED or EPC project.

Responsibilities

• Verification of contractual documents
• Development of detailed engineering of stress calculation and support design in accordance with contractual requirements, international standards, corporate standards and best practice.
• Verification of issued documentation by service providers, JV partners, or third parties
• Interface with specialists from other units such as Civil, Equipment, Process, etc.
• Execution of technical bid evaluation for supports and special item (support, springs, expansion joints, ….)
• Interface with the client for the resolution of technical issues
• Acoustic Induced Vibration (AIV) / Flow Induced Vibration (FIV) analysis
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for dedicated piping/mechanical components
• Supervising, controlling and planning the activities of service providers or partner
• Manage of piping support materials take off and feasibility for construction activities
• Field assistance during construction installation

Qualifications

Education: Technical Diploma or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: minimum 8 years as Piping Flexibility Engineer within energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, renewable or floaters sectors. Experience on GRE design is a plus.

Languages: English (B2), Italian (mother tongue/C1)

Technical/IT Skills:

• deep knowledge of basic SW tools (Office, Autocad/BricsCad)
• deep knowledge of Caesar II, Ansys and major software for 3D viewer (Naviswork, SPReview, or similar)
• familiarity with material management software
• ability to explore and enhance in-house or commercial software with AI assisted tool to achieve project needs

What else should you know?

You will have the opportunity to travel abroad based on the projects you will work for, both in home office assignment or field assignement.
