Job summary

Mondelēz International in Italy is seeking an experienced Automation & Digitalization Engineer to lead the local automation agenda. You will work with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to implement digital solutions, monitor progress, and drive continuous improvement of plant operations.

The role requires fluency in Italian and English, 100% on-site presence, and a strong background in PLCs, SCADA, and industrial networks.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a similar industrial/manufacturing role.
Excellent knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley) and WinCC SCADA.
Knowledge of industrial networking (fieldbus, OPC UA, VLAN, IT/OT segmentation)
Knowledge of vision systems (cameras, sensors, thermal cameras).
Knowledge of data monitoring/visualisation platforms (Grafana).
Knowledge of AGVs, AMRs, and COBOTs.
Ability to read electrical schematics.
Excellent project management skills (timelines, costs, vendor management).
Strong communication/presentation skills.
Fluent in Italian and English.
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
100% on-site presence.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute local automation and digitalization agenda.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners and engineering, maintenance, and production teams on digitalisation and automation projects.
Monitor progress through all phases of development.
Participate in continuous optimisation activities and share best practices.
Identify innovative technical solutions and evaluate proposals from system integrators and OEMs.
