Saipem Offshore Construction (SOC) is seeking an Offshore Installation Analyses Engineer to contribute to the structural integrity of welds on Saipem offshore vessels and in prefabrication yards, as part of the Asset Based Services Business Line.
You will perform structural analyses of welds, learn PIPTECH welding and NDT techniques, apply fracture mechanics, and use FE tools such as ABAQUS and ANSYS, with assignments in Italy, Romania and France.
Join Saipem and engineer a sustainable future.
We are a global leader in engineering and construction for the energy and infrastructure sectors, delivering complex onshore and offshore projects worldwide. Driven by technological innovation as “One Company”, our 30,000 people from over 130 nationalities in more than 50 countries work every day to enable the energy transition toward Net Zero. At Saipem, we embrace diversity as a driver of innovation and inclusion, while prioritizing people’s safety and environmental sustainability, even in the most challenging conditions.

SOC brings together all operational activities in Italy related to fabrication, technical services, maintenance, and logistics, providing essential support for the execution of offshore construction and offshore wind projects.
As Offshore Installation Analyses Engineer you will be part of the Asset Based Services Business Line working on the structural integrity of the welds containing defects (using fracture mechanics principles) and of the structures built by Saipem offshore and in prefabrication yards.
Perform Structural Analyses of Welds performed by Saipem on board of the Installation vessels and at prefabrication yards to define allowable flaw size to be verified by Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and to select the weld to be repaired
Acquire skills in the techniques on the core processes of pipe / loading / Pipeline Technology (PIPTECH) regarding welding processes and non-destructive testing in the offshore field.
Use of analytical approaches based on international standards (BS 7910, API 1104, API 579, DNV RP-F108)
Use of finite element structural analysis tools (ABAQUS, ANSYS) for dedicated non-linear analyses and special geometry welds and structures.
Follow up mechanical testing of the relevant weld/structure material. Help both Saipem and external mechanical testing laboratories specifying the required tests and following up the testing activities.
