Job summary

Saipem Offshore Construction (SOC) seeks an NDT Engineer to manage Non-Destructive Testing activities and support asset-based services. You will interpret codes, prepare NDT procedures (AUT, PAUT, TOFD, MUT, RT, CR, RTR, MT, PT, VT) and select inspection methods for onshore and offshore projects.

Ideal candidates have a Master's or Bachelor's in Mechanical/Materials/Industrial Production, 0–2 years in NDT, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Master's/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Materials/Industrial Production.
• 0-2 years of NDT Engineer experience in Oil & Gas.
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing).

Responsibilities

• Interpret codes, standards and contractual documents for NDT and welding.
• Prepare and verify NDT procedures (AUT, PAUT, TOFD, MUT, RT, CR, RTR, MT, PT, VT).
• Select appropriate inspection methods and techniques for projects.
• Develop and update project specifications for subcontractors and support NDT evaluations.
• Witness and guide NDT procedures and qualification tests on-site (onshore/offshore).
• Supervise AUT/PAUT qualifications and other NDT qualification processes per standards.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and superiors in written and spoken English.

Saipem Offshore Construction (SOC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Saipem S.p.A. SOC brings together all operational activities in Italy related to fabrication, technical services, maintenance, and logistics, providing essential support for the execution of offshore construction and offshore wind projects.

Purpose of the position: As NDT Engineer, you will respond to the Non Destruct Test Management and be part of the Asset Based Services Business Line.

How can you support us?

• Skills and knowledge to interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents pertinent to the NDT and welding disciplines
• Preparation and verification of the adequate procedures in the specific NDT (AUT, PAUT, TOFD, MUT, RT, CR, RTR, MT, PT and VT) method
• Capable of selecting the method and techniques for a specific inspection
• Developing & update relevant project specifications to subcontractors and support them to comply with by performing NDT processes evaluation
• Witnessing (and guiding where necessary) procedures and operator qualification tests at site providing guidance to NDT technicians on onshore / offshore sites
• Supervising AUT/PAUT qualifications & other conventional NDT qualification processes according to DNV-ST-F101, ASME V codes and equivalent
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, or via e‑mail, co-workers and subordinates as a representative of the company
• Ability to follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

What are we looking for?

Education: Master's Degree/bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Materials/Industrial Production

Experience: 0-2 years as a NDT Engineer within Oil&Gas industry

Technical/IT Knowledge:

• Pipeline and Subsea Modules (piping and structural) as preferable project experience.
• Excellent technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Contractors / Clients.
• Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and ultrasonic specific software’s (ESBeamTool, CIVA, etc..).
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural business environment.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing).

What else should you know?

Available to periodical and recurrent missions abroad (onshore like in Pipeline Technologies Center workshop, or offshore site like yard or vessels).
