Job summary

Vertiv in Bologna, Italy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer MV to join our R&D and Industrialization team. You will lead mechanical development and industrialization of new power converters, spanning architecture, detail design, prototyping, validation, and production readiness.

Qualifications

Degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
At least three years of experience in mechanical design and product development in an electromechanical environment.
Experience with power converters or power electronics; medium-voltage systems is a plus.
Proficiency in PTC Creo for 3D models, assemblies, and production drawings.
Knowledge of PLM systems, Windchill or Oracle Agile EC.

Responsibilities

Develop the mechanical architecture of new power converters.
Create and maintain 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and specs.
Design sheet-metal parts, frames, busbar supports, enclosures, and assemblies.
Choose materials and tolerances based on performance, cost and production needs.
Apply DFMA principles to improve quality, cost, and assembly time.
Perform mechanical calculations and tolerance analyses across designs.
Lead mechanical industrialization: tooling, production readiness, ramp-up.
