Vertiv is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the Thermal Management Engineering team in Piove di Sacco, Italy. The role focuses on Direct Expansion cooling units for data centers, driving electrical design across product development.

You will collaborate with suppliers, procurement and Industrial Engineering, create ECAD drawings, BOMs and specifications, and support production transfers between locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Designer, preferably in the HVAC industry.
• Strong understanding of electrical design principles and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of ECAD & PLM systems, Microsoft Office applications.
• Know-how of HVAC products.
• English – Intermediate level – Written and spoken.
• Competence: result‑oriented, team player, careful to details, flexible, attitude for teamwork.
• Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Initiative: ability to work independently and a strong willingness to take on new challenges.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Responsabilités

• Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on Direct Expansion cooling units for Data Center, focusing on high-performance, cost-effective design and market leading innovation.
• Design new products or re-engineer existing ones, with focus on electrical design, collaborating with suppliers, Procurement and Industrial Engineering.
• Create and review product documentation (E-CAD drawings, bill of materials, specifications, customer’s submittals).
• Support product production transfer from and to other locations, interface with main center of expertise.
• Meet cost, quality, environmental, and execution time objectives, achieving the best trade-off between market requirements and internal customer needs.
• Analyze and resolve technical issues related to the products under their responsibility.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all regions to enhance global designs.
• Competence in international electrical regulations and standards (CE/UL).
